Release changes – Detailed

  1. New toolbar with status updating

A new tool bar has been added to the project risk page, providing a more contemporary design for the various menu options.  As we progressively refresh the design of the application, more pages will make use of this tool bar. The new toolbar appears as follows:

The menu options below are available depending on the status of the risk and the user’s permission.

  1. The arrangement and display of project risk information – grouping

The information captured for a risk has been categorised into the following groups:

A. Overview

B. Monitoring and control

C. Analysis

D. Response Planning

E. Additional information

  1. Risk escalation

It is now possible to manually escalate and de-escalate a risk in three locations:

  1. Risk register
  2. View risk *New
  3. Edit risk *New

In addition, more detail is now provided for risks that have been automatically escalated.

The escalation level indicates that the risk was automatically escalated, and the reason(s).

In this example, the escalate icon is red because of the automatic escalation.  The user cannot de-escalate by clicking the icon.  The due date and risk rating must be modified in order to de-escalate the risk.

  1. Risk stage

Risk stage is now required when creating a risk.  It is captured in the “Monitoring and Control” section of the risk.  The inclusion of this field on the create risk form aligns with the data requirements for importing project risks.

  1. Improved Navigation from risk detail

The new “breadcrumb” functionality supports quick navigation to the risk register, project overview and portfolio overview pages.  It applies to the lowest level of portfolio that the project risk belongs to.  The breadcrumbs are found at the top left side of the risk and will be visible when viewing, creating or editing a risk.

In this example, when the user clicks on:

  • Risks” the risk register is displayed (i.e. list of all project risks)
  • CBD Car Parking” this is the project name, and therefore the project overview is displayed
  • Company Portfolio” the overview of this portfolio is displayed.

As the design of Focus HQ is progressively being improved, breadcrumbs will start being applied across additional pages.
