1. Automated and  Manual Scheduling

The Task Mode field indicates whether a task is scheduled manually or automatically, which gives a user the option to vary the control over tasks’ schedule in a project. For example, if a task is linked to a predecessor and set to update automatically, and there is a change in the predecessor, the successor task will update automatically.

1.1 Task Mode Default Settings

1. For Scheduling via CSV Import, the default if the field is not mapped, is that all tasks will be manually scheduled with defined start and end dates. Any dependencies/predecessors not required will be ignored.

2. For Scheduling manually in PROJECT FOCUS HQ, the default is set to be automated (i.e. start) and end dates and duration are calculated based on dependencies or constraints (e.g. lead, lag days, fixed dates).

1.2 How to Manage Task Mode Assignments

1. Once a project is selected, to change the task mode that is assigned to a task, click the ‘Schedule’ tab from the left sidebar of the page and the navigate to ‘Project Schedule’.

2. There are several options available to change the task mode assigned to a task:
