1. Project Life Cycle Dates

In the Project Life Cycle, dates collectively define the full project timeline - from approval and validation, through planning and delivery, to benefits realization and final closure - ensuring clear tracking and governance across the lifecycle.

Here is a concise breakdown:

1. Initiation Date - The official start of the project when it is approved and authorized

2. Feasibility Start & End Dates - The period for assessing project viability, including technical, financial, and operational analysis.

3. Planning Start & End Dates - The timeframe for developing detailed plans covering scope, schedule, resources, risks, and budget.

4. Execution Start & End Dates - The phase where project plans are implemented and deliverables are produced.

5. Benefits Start & End Dates - The period during which the project’s outputs deliver measurable value or outcomes to stakeholders.

6. Closing Date - The formal completion of the project, including handover, documentation, and lessons learned.

Each project stage maintains records of its Start and End dates. These dates include the Planned Start and End dates, the Actual Start and End dates when the project transitions into that stage, and the approver responsible for moving the project to that stage.
