1. Project Budget Add Custom Budget

In addition to the Baseline, Forecast and Actual cost values, clients can add a Custom Budget Data field to record and save client specific budget requirements.  The Custom Budget field (client can rename) is activated at company level will automatically appear for all new projects created.  



By default, the "Custom Budget Data Set" is not active.  To activate or edit Custom Budget Data Set, toggle it ON and click "Update" button.



For both Planning and Execution projects, Custom Budget costs can be updated across all periods (past, current, and future). To do this:

  • Select ‘Budget’ from the sidebar menu.
  • Navigate to ‘Detailed Cost’ table.
  • Click on the ‘Budget Item ID’ or "WBS" of the cost to be updated to navigate to the Budget – Cost Details page.



  • Click the ‘Update’ button within the ‘Budget – Cost Details’ page.

 


As this is a customized budget, changes can be made to past, current and future months and the Custom Budget total will automatically calculate the total based on the monthly values entered. 

  • Update the monthly Custom Budget values within the ‘Custom Data Set’ field. for any or all of the periods you want.
  • Custom Budget values can be updated across all periods (past, current, future)
  • Click on the Add Cost Period’ button to extend the monthly periods. Note: Must be within Project Forecast finish date.
  • Click ‘Update Cost’ to save the details.



The entered/updated the monthly Custom Budget values will also be displayed within the Detailed Cost Table - Custom Budget "Period" and "To Date" columns


2. Project Budget Add Custom Budget via CSV import 

The custom budget data set allows customers to add custom budget data within projects and portfolios, this is in addition to the standard Baseline, Forecast and Actual cost values.

This field can also be imported via CSV, below is an example:

  1. Header and description must be exactly as defined in Company Settings. 
  2. Monthly costs.

 

  • There is no validation for Custom Budget Data Set, therefore Total and Monthly costs can be updated at any time, this includes past, current and future months.
  • The Custom Budget total (item 3) is not an editable field, this total will automatically update based on changes to the Monthly Custom Budget data.
